Evils II is the second volume in a chronicle detailing Taiwan’s biggest academic fraud scandal - that of the country’s President Tsai Ing-wen. Its pages detail backdoor dealings between Taiwan and the U.K., money scandals, and judicial injustices. This is wrongdoing and manipulation on par with Elizabeth Holmes’ Theranos scandal. This series has been in the works since 2022, recording President Tsai Ing-wen’s unsavory academic past. It will take you back to 2015 to when the scandal first surfaced. Then, it will detail the truth chronologically, beginning with the University of London’s records from 1981. Taiwan and U.K court documents will further uncover how academic dishonesty, at the highest level, happened right under everyone’s noses.
The book’s author Dr. Dennis Peng was once Director of National Taiwan University’s Graduate Institute of Journalism. His quest for truth has exacted a steep price as he is now politically persecuted, with a warrant out for his arrest. As a result, Dr. Peng’s passport was revoked, leaving him stateless.
